xmas is near!

did i forget to mention that i got my haircut shorter on saturday?

then last night went to some friends' xmas burlesque show...
some of it was good, alot of it was cheap and tired, and other bits were just why?
there was a woman with a lovely bluesy voice.

all in all it was a pretty good show with great aerial performance and luscious music.
and nice to take my daughter along as some of the performers have known her since she was around five years old...

o i miss her already! she only left today and already it was horrid to come home to an empty house. but so excited that i'm off back home to see her again in a couple days. i just wish that the weather was better there - what is with the forecast of snow???

well better get back to crocheting reindeers!

the festive sneezin'

i've just taken my first over the counter medicine (except painkillers) for like a year! i hate doing it but i'm off to southend today to meet up for lunch with the girlies i was in africa with and have been up sneezing my nose off since 7am. yuck. i'm like a little snot factory...so finally caved in and took some day nurse. and as i'm washing it down with green tea and jasmine i should be speedy gonzalez in half an hour! o dear, but needs must!

now i understand why yesterday i was stuck in bed til around 4pm...too fatigued to get up and do anything = but still managed to get out and buy some paint to do the kid's bedroom before she comes back next friday! i've only got a few days to get it painted and carpeted - luckily the fiance's friend bob is going to sort it all for us while i'm at work this week, phew.

so let's hope this is just a little cold and that i've got some good energetic days coming. especially as i've got a busy month ahead of me! i've finally been able to sort some time off work to go home at xmas...it was stressful but it finally happened after lots of tears and spreadsheets.

my friend/director finally figured they could get some cover so i could see my family. so i texted me daughter i've got tickets to come home and her reply was that she had flights for london! so she comes here then goes back and 2 days later i follow her...

then xmas with the family, then see lil bro and his kid from the 27th when they get back from montana and hopefully a lovely chilled out sightseeing train ride up the coast to san francisco for new years eve. and also any cousins that are going to be around then!!!!

and somehow also see my lovely mormon 'twin' (yes i am the evil one) that lives in arizona as i miss her soooo much and get my eyebrows tattooed = hopefully not at the same time though as getting my eyebrows tattooed makes me sneeze.

and now i've come full circle!

off to milan with the italian fiance on wednesday!

really wanted to see a band here in london called the black keys, but it was sold out so heading to milan to see them, and get tattooed by marco that did my red lotus flower when i was over in ibiza for the closing parties.

still not booked my xmas flights as waiting on work to sign off my vacation form. am worried if they do not do it soon that i'll not be able to afford the flights! latest plan is to fly into L.A. where the kid is currently living/working and then maybe road trip from there.

well, fingers crossed...

why o why o why?

why does the washing machine always mess up when you have a long weekend away planned?

am off to a nice posh restaraunt/hotel this weekend so no time to get the repairmama out, so guess i'm lucky i haven't worn ALL my clothes this week, lol!

long long time

it has been absolutely ages since i updated this blog!
work is busy busy busy as usual - mostly (and ironically) on a vodka client.
why do i get all the clients that i don't consume???
used to work on cadbury's chocolate (they do nothing vegan) and now i'm on 42 below (which is owned by bacardi). at least my insurance client provides really good travel coverage!

...because i'm trying to get some days off work to go back home for xmas.

looking at flights though, the only thing affordable would take me out on the 16th and fly home on the 26th (boxing day). not alot of time to see everyone -- but at least i'll get to check out my daughter's new apartment share in west hollywood and see the new places she is working/performing.

just wish i could be back home next week!
my little little baby brother is finally turning 40...
and of course the election - although sometimes i think US politics is better watched from UK tv as well as read in newspapers here like the guardian.
no matter who wins - its going to be a big change!

life has been busy busy busy. just launched the new campaign website for the bbc's culture show and i'm really really proud of it.

now let's hope i have the time and energy to do some more crochet as i've just bought some more gorgeous patterns from j.polka! love her stuff.

so...new life requires a new blog!

hopefully i haven't jinxed anything by using my new nickname of cherry razzle already but i wanted to set up something that i could use now to talk about day to day work life and pre-wedding stuff as well as use it in the future.
